Cherishing my Malacca moments
I am back from a 3 Days 2 nights trip from Malacca with the Z clan. I almost died from excitement because it's the first time I get to travel on my own and not have my passport carried by my mum anymore!!! And congratulations to me for still being alive after this trip. SEE MUM DAD??? I can take care of myself!
What to do when you go to Malacca?
When we are not hiding in our Holiday Inn cocoons for the 3 days, we ventured the Malacca city and its heritage places, food and their urms shops.
1. FOOD
Eat cheap seafood prepared Kampong style. A meal for 4 person, consisting of Sting Ray, Ikan Bakar (BBQ Fish), Bamboo Clamps, Cockles , flower crabs AND 2 types of vegetable dishes...all for the price of RM64!!! Crystal bay is the most soughted area if you are on the hunt for delicimo seafood. CANNOT GUARANTEE FRESHNESS. But it is still O.K for the price that they charge.
Considering that Malacca is where the Babas and Nonyas originate from, the nonya dishes are a must try when you visit Malacca!

1. FOOD
{ Crystal Bay; Stall No. 7 }
Rating: 4/5 stars !!! Their black pepper crab was sorta horrible!

{ One more picture of myself hah }
{ Squid fritters, Cincalok Omelette, Taugeh fried with salted fish, Prawn with petai and Chinese Tea }
This meal for 4 person costs us RM 91!!!! Each small bowl of sambal belacan cost RM2. Their Chendol wasn't that great though.
Rating : 4/5 stars !!! -1 star for bad chendol and service
2. SIGHT SEEING
The only reason I like to travel is because I get to see what's on the other side of the world.
{ Morning view from our hotel room }
{ The mysterious white mosque on the 'island' opposite our room }
{ Refreshing view from the hotel's bar & restaurant }
{ At the jetty }
3. SHOPPING
The shopping part excites me the least (whoa, surprise!!!). Throughout the trip, I was more concerned about getting 'souveneirs' for my family. But I didn't bought for them anything too 'touristy' like Malacca key chains or fridge magnets (eeks). I barely gotten anything for myself too... except for ....
{ 1st purchase }
A faux leather bracelet with the word 'Cherish' on in. I jokingly told Z he should start calling me Cherish from now on. It sounds like the name Cher + Trish ie. Cherish! But whutever!!! He now calls me Jelly instead.
We headed to the most renowned mall in Malacca : Mahkota Parade
{ Big mall with nice things to buy }
{ 2nd and 3rd purchase }
Facebook slippers AND a studded office coat/jacket for myself! So pretty. It's a puffed shoulder jacket with nice silver sown-on studs. A GOOD BUY.
We headed on to Jonker Walk at night because people raved so much about how important it is to visit this place if you are in Malacca. They even compared it with Bugis Market.
WTH IT IS NOTHING LIKE BUGIS PLEASE! They sell mua chi and chendol and laksa (which is mostly sold out by 8pm) and baby toys and baby clothes and many other nonsense. Worst than your neighbourhood Pasar Malam. Jonker Walk is quite a joke. Sorry to say this.
Not to mention that the place was teeming with people. TOO CROWDED till we almost got robbed. (Nanny's bag was slashed open in the crowd!) Such a dangerous place to go. I wouldn't recommend you to visit this place, unless you want to buy RM10 baby clothes or overpriced out-of-stock durian chendols. So much disappointment with this place.
Rating : 1/5 stars
Lovely time it was. I ate so much, hence the nickname Jelly BUT I AM SO HAPPY NOW SO who cares if I'm a jelly! Or Jello!
{ Aww }
Dieting from tomorrow onwards! Tsk.
