I tried to save a dog
Who says that a muslim can never be too kind to dogs? This incident happened to me a couple of days back. It is still haunting me till today because it was unforgettable encounter.
I saw a dog pouncing and goofing with its 2 other kind at the roadside. I was admiring it from afar. It was a beautiful breed. A golden retriever. It was playing near the road, and I just stood there admiring its playfulness, teasing and topsy turvy-ing with the 2 other dogs when it just ran. Across the road.
A road full of stupid drivers. A road full of heartless motorists and drivers. A road full of buffoons.
Yes, the dog got ran over by a semi lorry. It happened there, right there, just an arm's length away from me. I gasped and turned to the 2 strangers beside me. I told them can you please help. Can you please do something? Unfortunately they are a pair of mangkuks (rotten people of the worst kind and breed that you ever find!)
They obviously expected a LADY to do this alone. To save a dead dog lying motionless on a heavyduty road teeming with the 7.30 am rush hour traffic on a Monday morning. It's a TOTALLY woman thing to do! So womanly right?
Instincts told me to drag this dead dog aside. But I can't do it alone if no one is there to stop the traffic. I stood on the middle of the road. I literally did. I was just hoping the 2 fuck moved the bloody dog. They started to throw dead leaves over the dead dog. Hello, punny or what. Throwing DEAD leaves on a DEAD dog. What the fuck seriously you cannot depend on these guys to do anything!!!!!!
I have to and just had to be the traffic police woman by diverting traffic (can consider this as my next career if no car ran over me - thank god because none did) and if I could I would be the Wond(e)rous Woman, carrying the the dead dog off the road with my laser eye beam power à la Cyclops or whatever that comes out from my eyes that will help to do this.
Silly as I looked it didn't matter because the dead dog is just what I wanted to save. These 2 fucks had left me the no choice but to save this dead dog alone.
As soon as I stopped my traffic navigation (3 minutes worth of flagging my hands to the left-right-left), 1 fuck motorist RAN OVER THE DEAD DOG. I have no inkling of how someone can be so blind and not see a dead dog on the road. Blood splattered and the dog was thrown another feet away from me.
And at that moment of desperation, I just stood sobbing. I felt so sorry for the dog. It is Monday afterall so maybe my hormones got the better of me. Regardless, how can you just run over a dead dog!
A minute worth of uncontrollable sobs later, a purple car pulled over at the bend and a young indian guy asked what is that on the road. The 2 mangkuks said Your Dog, your dog.
Bullshit of course it wasn't his dog. He was being the Good Samaritan. In his car his wife was screaming at him to return to the car.
I told my dad about this and he told me Please don't do that next time; standing in the middle of the road to save a dead dog. I told him I don't want to disobey you, but the dog was a beautiful dog, that is the least I can do.
The truth is I felt guilty. It was playing nearby. If I had called after him, he would have turned around and not run across the road. People say that the only way to let go of guilt is to do something good in return. Perhaps it was my natural instinct to just stay on the road to protect the dead dog.
I am still so distraught. I love my animals more than anyone would even imagine, ironically I love dogs more than any pets.
Please don't judge me just because I am a muslim and I love dogs. Regardless, they are also God's creation and as much as you don't believe it, a stray dog actually walked me home once (twice! same happened 2 days ago) late in the night.
My 2 stray cats snarl at me every time I tried to feed them but the stray dog never once barked at me, instead wags its tail when I say hi to him.
I hope those who reads this also pours their heart out when they see an animal dead while trying to cross the street. Have pity and sympathy for these strays. They can be kind to you when you are kind to them too.
