5 Years Down The Road
When I was out and about with the Financial Controller the other day, I decided to not make the car ride awkward hence I asked her questions about her job. I asked her how did she pull through 6 years working in the same company (well she is young, 28 years old or so). 28 years old, drives a car (she humbly brushed off the question when the engineer asked her is This her car, she laughed and reply no it's my Papa's), earning a 5-digit salary no less, and of course, with that much of salary, it is no surprise that she packs a Tory Burch week-ender clutch IN a Prada handbag. Shoot me 2 times please.
She did not exactly disclosed to me her secret potion or her secret weapon of mass destruction but being 28 years old with that much success piled to you comes as wonderment to me.
Instantly, I felt so driven with the possibilities that This too (the wonderment thingy) can happen to anyone in every single possible way. I have always wondered, is this the life, the career line that I want to pursue in, or this just a blessing in disguise - to go through tough load of work, in hopes of reaping the real fruits of success in 5 years down the road.
I looked at her with so much awe because I too, want to be in her position someday somehow in one way or another or in fact, in every way.
Over the months, I learnt so much from talking to people, learning how to develop good and productive working habits that I can adapt to such that I enjoy every minute of my work time. It is admirable, really, when seniors share with you how they work through their years in the company.
In her office, looking past my shoulder, I can see how efficient she works and flits from one desk to another at half seconds grace. You know that lady has caliber in the way she walks and talks (or drives, like a F1 racer on the road).
Promise myself that I will want to look back to this blog post in 5 years down the road and smile upon my self that I am somewhere There with a Tory Burch equivalent hanging on my arm while I prance to my car.
Possible.
