Valentine' Day in a nutshell

Who? :
Valentine, basically, he was a priest from Rome. At that era, men, who were unmarried (and single wuhoo!) are said to be better soldiers than those who are , well, married. So, Claudius, Rome's Emperor forbids all of men in Rome to marry.
What? :
Yes, men were not allowed to marry! Imagine if it were to happen now, We'd probably have a petition of some sort against it! Back to Valentine's story : Valentine performed secret marriages for couples, despite the restricted order from the Emperor. He was caught one day, and what forcefully put behind the bars.
Where :
That's where he met his first love. She was the daughter of a fellow jail mate. Before he died, he wrote that girl a love note, and signed off, as "From your Valentine".
When? :
Valentine died in sometime around mid Febuary, though the exact date is still left in the midst.
So that's the reason why we celebrate Valentine's day. A day to commemorate the humble contributions of a heroic, sympethetic and a romantic lover.
Have a splentabulous Valentine's Day!
&
HAPPY VALENTINE's DAY SAAAAYYYYYAAAANNNG! ((: *throwshugs&kisses@zulky*
