MOTHER'S DAY WITH THUMBELINA

Happy Mother's Day to every mommy in the world!

My dad and I had this little father-daughter talk regarding Mother's Day. He, being the so opinionated man in my life, said "Why need to celebrate mother's day? Did you know that Mother's Day is to celebrate the Nuns?" Ok ok stop there daddio.

I replied "No dad! I think it's really not about Mother Theresa and Nuns. I mean, even if it WAS how it actually started, then it's good because now we have a day to appreciate our Mothers"

He replied "Did you know that Father's Day was to celebrate the Father (church) ?"

And so it goes on like that for like...5 years. And I really think today he will say the same thing to me when he's here to fetch me home later.

I really find it so romantic when husbands celebrates Mother's Day for their Wives. Give them flowers and shower them with gitfts ETC!

Perculiar as it is, I mean, Your Wive is not Your Mother, but the thought of celebrating it is very heartwarming.

Me and my mum, we do all sorts of things together. But I don't like it when Z said "You are just like your mum".

I don't know if it is really that bad?

My relatives go around and say "OMG your daughter looks exactly like you now" And my mother just smiled, but I don't know if it is a proud smile. :(

Yes I know, favouritism happens in EVERY family. And isn't that why they have "Daddy's girl" and "Mommy's boy" baby tshirts for sale?

But regardless of what people think or say about me looking like a mini replica of my mum or WHATSOEVER shiat I don't care.

Talking about that, have you ever wondered how hot / good looking your mum was when she was your age?

Photobucket

  • I have a friend who just discovered (!!) that his mum was actually a runway teen model please
  • My relatives used to call my mother SALOMA (some young 1950's pretty actress)
  • Z's mum herself was a hot chick
I aso wan to be remembered like that when I am 60 years old and wrinkly.

Future husband  will say "Did you know you mum was a very ________ girl in school and she was very _________ too??" --fill in the blanks with awesome words thank you--

It really saddens me when you have a mother but NEVER get to appreciate her. This includes shutting her out of your life, ill-treating her and many more.

But today, shall be a happy day. So I hereby wish every mum and mummy-to-be a happy mother's day.

I AM ZOOMING BACK TO JB TO GRAB SOME WHOLESOME DINNER WITH THE FAMILY. Bill's on me.

xoxo
