Thumbelina Reviews : Mentholatum Acnes Sealing Gel, Creamy Wash & Powder Lotion

I received my package from thesamplestore.sg recently and I had chosen to give a trial run on Mentholatum Acnes. I had problematic skin since I was what, Primary school? I learnt my lesson that NO 1 BRAND CAN BE TRUSTED when they say they are acne-clearing, oil controling whatshit. THEY don't do any justice to my skin and up till today, I alternate between facial cleanser brands because there is no point sticking to one as they are give the same -measly- result at the end of the day.

Call me brave! Plastering plenteous amount of unknown products on my face, but since Acnes seems to be pretty renowned -or stands out pretty obvious among other facewash in Watsons- , I decided to give it a try.

So I had the trial pack which consists of a Medicated Sealing Gel, a Powder Lotion & a Creamy Wash. The Creamy Wash lasted about 1 week. The Sealing Gel lasted for 1 and a half week and the Powder Lotion is still there close to the brim of the tube.

1 week later:

1. Despite putting on ample amount of Sealing Gel on my pimple, the pimple didn't 'shrink'. It took too long to heal that it is now left with a pimple scar/bump. (!!!!!)

A pimple bump is when the 'swelling' of the pimple is gone! But the bump is still there, like as if the puss is still bagged beneath the bump.

Horrid. Just horrid. I tried to put an extra layer to the pimple, but the Sealing Gel ends up drying and scaling on my skin. -.- This stuff is a goner, I told myself.

2. The Creamy Wash is indeed creamy. But I had this idea that Acnes' face wash will help to control oil AND pimple from popping. But, seems like it controls the oil, but not the pimple, and pimples don't dry up even though I washed my face 2 times a day with the creamy wash.

This is different from the time I used Clean and Clear acne clearing face wash. It helps to 'heal' the pimple!!!

Another thumbs down to Acnes.

3. The Powder Lotion is the least used by me. I tilt the bottle and semi water semi powder dripped out of the tube. It is so runny and it does look like a typical toner to me, but except that I don't know why it has to include 'powder'.

I used it before I sleep. No changes. No improvement!!!

Truthfully, I think there are plenty of bogus acne-controlling / ache facewash products out there. That is why it is so difficult to get the perfect on for myself. (Ironically, I cannot use those expensive cosmetic brand of facewash, I get rashes!!!)

So Mentholatum Acnes products doesn't work at all on my skin. Tsk. Share with me what facewash product you use!
