Review: Brasserie Gavroche
Happy 9th Anniversary to us!!!!
To celebrate our big fat 9th anniversary, we had a nice meal at a quaint classic french restaurant located at Tras Street : Brasserie Gavroche.

The place was so antique and I love that it takes you away to a far far away place once you step into the restaurant.
Honestly I was worried that I won't find something I'd like to eat, that being I am a picky eater. But voila! When the menu was spread in front of me, I totally know what I want. Either that OR I am a girl who know exactly what SHE wants.
We ordered the day's Special : Tomato Salad

I was never a big fangirl of vegetables on plate, yet alone these eating tomatoes and greens. But being with Z (after 8 years later!) I finally found a new soft spot for salads. If you see me snogging a bowl of salad all to myself, that whole bowl is actually to make up for the 22 years of vegetables that I didn't eat.

We ordered a plate of sauteed bamboo clams and Venus clams with artichoke (corner right of the picture). It was fantastic. Let me try describe the taste , and you are reading this from a girl who is from the clam fanclub: Savoury clams combined with rockets to give you an nice crunch when they play in your mouth and earthy artichoke that just goes well with the entire thing !
My Main : Pan-seared fillet of sea bream with Provençale ratatouille

I love fish, and nothing can go wrong when I have fish. And to accompany the fillets is ratatouille. I could have gone for the crushed potato, but I was so inclined to trying the ratatouille, because of the rat Ratatouille. Shut up, I love freaking love that rat!!!!
For my knight: Stuffed quail with foie gras and mushroom
I don't fancy the quail (the thought of eating a bird!) but I can assure you one thing and that is the mushrooms are délicieux.
For dessert, the chef's recommendation : Tarte Tatin / Upside down apple tart with vanilla ice cream
They have other desserts which I will definitely love to try the next time if I am there, such as the Chocolate mousse cake with fresh berries.
