MM Lee says Muslim must be 'less strict', I say whatttt?

Why are we making people say Sorry for saying something that MIGHT actually be true. SO true to the fact that it hurts to hear it from the horse's mouth.

I am not referring to Chris Brown saying Sorry to Rihanna for traumatizing her in their S & M acts -chain and whips hu hu hu (I know, this is very yesteryear) but regarding MM Lee how he is 'casually' blamed for hurting the Malays with idea of Muslims having to be less strict with the religion to promote social integration and maybe god knows, policy making too.

The last time I blogged something pertaining to this, I was back lashed by so many people who misinterpreted , the ENTIRE BLOG POST, calling me a Bimbo and soon-to-be Christian. But there are also some true Friends who understood what I meant and helped me to re-inforce the true meaning of the religion.

P/s I WAS SO HURT OK.

NO WORRIES dear fellow friends. I promise this won't be be hurtful post. But I want to share with you, something Something very important that I think it will really help you in the future, especially if you are an undergraduate or soon-to-be working etc.

1. As I was hanging around with my colleagues and sharing our past work experiences, a colleague told me she was shocked when her ex Boss told her to call on every interviewee and ask if they are a Malay, and whether they wear the Tudong. If the interviewee wears a Tudong, then she does not fit the criteria. Seriously???? I know, my gob dropped on the floor hearing this. My heart was pounding so hard with angst, what on earth is this 'criteria' that we haven't heard of???

2. In other aspects of working environment, superiors and managers prefer not to hire Malays because they erms, (how to I put it nicely?) are difficult to cater to - eg having to cater Halal food for events etc. They find it difficult to keep up to their Corporate Budgets. Sheesh kebabs la.

But when MM Lee said something about social intergration, I remembered something back in my JC days.

In my first few months in TPJC, I remembered this nice looking girl. Because it was still our Orientation Period, we are supposed to wear our Secondary School  uniforms to the JC.This girl, happens to be from one of the Madrasahs (Islamic Schools) - hence her uniform includes the Tudong and the Baju Kurung, like one of these:

That's still OK right?

BUT, I realised, despite being a largely Malay-dominated school, she, I swear, was always seen alone. During recces, during class, before school, after school, during lectures. Eventually, 3 months after that, I never see her again. I don't know and I can't comprehend WHY is she always alone when there is like a 40% Malays population in the school? Is it the uniform? (the Tudong? Because other Malay JC girls had skirt lengths that were crazy high up their knees so maybe we felt sinful if we befriend nice religious girl like her? IDK?!!)

So is this a case of Malays not befriending other Malays because she wears the Tudong? Now you see, if we Malays 'ostracize' other Malays, think about how non-Malays, who don't understand the Religion, will treat us Malays?? Can you see the logic as to what MM Lee mentioned? (hence isn't that why he is gently pushing us to be more open-minded)

Maybe MM Lee meant 'less strict' to be something like sharing a table at Changi Village with your Chinese colleagues who are over at the other side of the food court where all the Chinese food are while you have your favourite Nasi Lemak from the Muslim corner with extra Ayam.

I believe there are 101 ways -this statement is overrated i know but this relevant- to interpret 'less strict'.

But if that Old Man says something, it has got to be true and relevant. So DO IT

P/s I overheard a song from a Malaysian-Malay rap group K.R.U and the lyrics goes:

How to go far when we fight-fight
Make noise some more
Make the blood go up
Cmonlah we Singaporeans* what??!
Cmon lah, together gether mah

*changed Malaysians to Singaporeans

THAT IS ORIGINAL LRYICS OK. HAHAHA Beats Eminem's handsdown!!
