10 Reasons Why The National Day Parade 2010 Preview Was A Disaster
National Day Parade 2010 Preview
I walked along the Singapore River and spotted those NDP usherers, dressed in White T with Red Stars. "Hello! Welcome to NDP!"she exclaimed and smiled gingerly. "Hold on to your tickets and walk this way" she held out her arm and ushered me to the right. I thought to myself, "Well, not bad for a start..."
I collected my NDP totes from this group of young and energetic usherers (again) and was quite touched by how they literally wave Hi to you and shout out in unison "Welcome to NDP! Welcome to NDP!" and some said "Hello!" as we walk pass them. I thought to myself, again "Well, this is definitely gonna be a good one..." But I thought wrong.
10 reasons why the National Day Parade 2010 Preview was a disaster
1) Not as good as National Day Parade 2009 - no different from any other previously-held-at-the-Padang NDP
2) Called the Fun Box, but not much fun inside, just 2 packets of Khong Guan biscuits, 2 packet of drinks, a plastic bag and those classic temporary tattoos - so 1990's-
3) Drizzled quite badly, hence the sky was too dark to view the 3-minute airshow
4) The trios were late with the flag fly pass
5) Lighting was really poor, I cannot see the mobiles, trucks etc from the SAF and SCDF
6) 'Majulah Singapura' was not lighted up -it probably will on the actual day
7) Not much fireworks. In fact, I only spotted 1. That firework 'barely made it'
8)
Z Mum : So, how did you find the show?
Me: Well....I think it was rather sloppy.
It truthfully is sloppy. It kind of hurts me to see those performers, not performing with precision and move around with lazy feet. So sloth.
9) The emcee went dead. There was no introduction to the next performance. No hint on what the formation is about and no idea who is performing. Everything is so dark.
It was just mediocre. Spectators were leaving the stands 15 minutes after the show started. Can you believe that!
10) I was donned in red, excited as a bunny, braved the drizzle and stayed till the end of the show, but left the Padang with no significant memories, other than the lady who obstructed my view with a huge grey umbrella and blocked me from taking a clear picture of Sezairi Sezali. :(
(zoom in on the handband on my arm)
Sigh.
On a cheerier note, I got this from rubi shoes (I donated $1 for this chic handband! Must get more!)
Awwwwwwwwwwwww it's pink ^^
