Macaroons originate from the word ammaccare , which means to beat or mesh. It is made with egg white, caster sugar, icing sugar and almond flour, whisked to perfection (not to heavy with the whisking), but a gentle 'whisk inwards' motion will do the mixture ample justice, suffice for it to form into a heavy whippy foam. Pipe it out, bake it and serve it with a cuppa tea.
I learnt that it is so easy to make my own M.C.
