Man Drowns In Singapore River

A night-long drinking binge ended in tragedy as one of the merry-makers, still in a drunken stupor, fell into the Singapore River and drowned early Thursday morning.

24-year-old Mohamed Asrul started drinking with his group of nine friends at 11pm on Wednesday night at The Central, near Coleman Bridge in Clarke Quay.

This was their usual drinking hang-out where they met on off-days every week, his friends said. However, only Asrul and three friends – all in their 20s — stayed and drank through the night.

According to his friends, at about 7am, a groggy Asrul woke up and wanted to return home but instead lost his balance and fell into the Singapore River.

Asrul leaves behind his father and older brother, 28, both of whom are cleaners. Police are investigating the incident and have classified it as “unnatural death”. (source)

Ok, so this is a case of DEATH right? And then people question WTF, he is a Mohamad, therefore = Muslim therefore WTH is he doing drinking and then drowned himself. Serves him right!

The comments enraged me much because firstly there are angry Singaporean Muslims out there who actually said that he deserved to die for he have "sinned". Who the hell are you to judge people's Sins.You are just another piece of flesh and blood in this earth just like Asrul.

God (regardless of which religion) hates anyone that despise his own kind. nur_islam, that is a piece of filthy comment. You think god will love you more if you put so much hatred to people like Asrul? NO! So go figure out how to cleanse yourself because you stink big time.

This is the funniest comment. Please la, ever heard of reverse psychology? The thrill of being caught will drive more Singaporean Muslims to go wonky. It is bad enough that crazy public hospitals in our neighbouring country don't allow sexy clothed gals to enter the god damn wards (click here for more). That neighbouring country have to have such strict + close to territorial laws because they are a Muslim country.

That is what Muslim countries are supposed to do. They bother about Islam laws etc. On a whole, having a Malay-Sinful-Catcher Command troupe is not, I repeat, NOT a good idea.

Sometimes, I look at myself, and I compare with my Muslim friends. No, I don't wear that thing around your head (a tudong), I admit I wear what? Over-the-exposed clothing because it makes me feel confident of myself. I don't pray 5 times a day. I bitch and gossip. I swear alot (WTF WTF WTF, I hope God doesn't count this as a proper swear word) I dyed my hair bright kaler.

But I say Thank you, Please, May I? at the cashier. I wish Good morning, Good afternoon, Good evening, Good night to the taxi driver. I ask How are you, Are you ok, How was work to my friends, I respect my friends, I respect other religions, I help others eagerly when they need help, I listen to people's problem and advice them, I spend on my loved ones...and many more to this actually.

So does wearing, eating, acting sinfully and against my religion makes me a bad-assed girl? Intangibles cannot be measured and that is why people only comment on what they THINK they heard or see.
